SEEDS OF HOPE: An arts-based project to raise awareness about suicide.

In partnership with the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, Yehudit has developed an innovative arts-based approach to working with issues around suicide and resilience. The project, which involves mask-making and creative arts therapies workshops for communities that have been affected by suicide, has culminated in a public exhibition at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts from March 3rd to April 9th, 2017. Yehudit Silverman presents at CASP 2016 in Iqaluit

Creative Arts Therapies professor Yehudit Silverman was invited to speak at CASP 2016 – Hope, Help, and Healing Conference. The Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention (CASP) will be held from October 26-29 in Iqaluit, Nunavut. Yehudit will present on her project “Seeds of Hope: An Arts-Based Approach to Working with Suicide & Resiliency. Learn more about the conference program.


Yehudit is currently working on a new and exciting project, Interfaith Arts Dialogue – A Documentary Film Project for Peace- which brings together young adults and religious and community leaders from Jewish, Christian, and Muslim communities to work together through the arts in order to increase dialogue, exchange, and empathy among different communities. This new arts-based film project is currently in early stages of production, and has already produced over 30 hours of filming.


Yehudit is also developing a new online and blended course, “Introduction to Creative Arts Therapies".


November 7, 2015: Yehudit will be presenting a workshop entitled “The Use of Masks in Research and Clinical Practice” with Carlos Rodriguez at the Expressive Therapies Summit.


September 18-20, 2015: Yehudit’s film, The Hidden Face of Suicide, was featured on New York Public Television. She was also interviewed.


In June, 2015, Yehudit took on the role of Chair in the Department of Creative Arts Therapies at Concordia University in Montreal.
